Canterbury Health Laboratories annually invites laboratory managers
and leaders from around New Zealand, Australia and further afield
to participate in their User Group meeting...
Over the years the meeting has moved from a predominantly scientific
focus to include discussions on issues affecting the industry’s
future direction and sustainability. The Lab Meeting is recognised
as providing a valuable forum for senior medical laboratory associated
people and those interested in the pathology sector.
The theme for this year’s conference is “The
Impact of Choice”, which aims to encourage delegates to challenge
their thinking around thought processes and the impact of decisions.
The theme will be broken down to cover aspects relating to technology
and how we use data to inform decisions and identify priorities,
as well as leadership content around choosing teams and how we communicate.
The programme is designed to bring together the Clinical, Executive,
Patient, Scientific and Technology aspects of a complex Health System,
all of which will have an impact on future developments in Pathology.
2018 Programme topics include:
Presentation content will be spread across the health and technology
disciplines, with a variety of speakers from within laboratories,
a number of scientific presentations, as well as speakers from the
wider health system and non-health organisations to provide inspiration
and foresight from other industries.
A preconference programme is again being run, where pre-conference
meetings are largely by invitation and include: Laboratory Managers
Meeting; Labnet Meeting; Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Managers
Meeting; and a sponsored evening networking event.
The social programme includes Welcome drinks, Rum Red Socks and
Reminiscing drinks and a Conference Dinner.
